The Agency was founded by John W. DePriest, who had many years experience in the insurance industry prior to opening his own agency in 1961. It was established under the name of DePriest Insurance Agency and located in Lonoke, Arkansas. He believed in the rock solid principles of honesty, customer service, and offering a variety of companies to best fit the customer’s needs. This spirit of hard work, integrity, and professionalism remains a part of our treasured heritage.
In 1969, Harry J. Buffalo joined the agency as a sales person and in 1973 the two formed a partnership. This partnership would be known as DePriest-Buffalo Insurance Agency Inc.
In 1975, Mr. DePriest retired and Mr. Buffalo bought the agency changing the name to Buffalo Agency Inc. In 1989, Buffalo Agency Inc. expanded by opening an office in Cabot, Arkansas.
Following in his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps, John David Buffalo joined the firm in 1993. After working in the Lonoke office, John David moved to Cabot to continue the personal customer service that the agency was founded upon.
The Buffalo Agency Inc. has been a family owned and operated business for almost 50 years. The owners are active in the business and are committed to remaining so. We believe it is in the best interest of our clients to have owners active in virtually every phase of the operation. This, we feel, will assure professional service and customer commitment.
